It’s fall, and you know what that means… PSL Season! For those who are unfamiliar, PSL stands for Pumpkin (or “Pupkin”) Spice Latte. The tasty drink was popularized by Starbucks – especially when they reinvented their recipe in 2015 to include real pumpkin. Now, both you and your pet can simultaneously enjoy this fall drink with our DIY homemade dog treat recipe. We’ve partnered up with @hungrynike to create this delicious recipe. DIY Dog Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
Pumpkin Spice Latte 1 cup Open Farm Kefir (organic raw cow milk) 1 cup pure pumpkin puree* dash ground cinnamon* a touch of whipped cream (homemade recipe or store bought*) Open Farm dog treats, to garnish
Directions Blend kefir and pumpkin in a blender. Add more kefir or pumpkin for desired thickness.
Optional: If making homemade whipped cream, mix the heavy whipping cream in a bowl. With an electric beater, beat until stiff peaks form.
Pour pumpkin spice latte into a small cup and crumble Open Farm dog treats to garnish. For an added treat, add a touch of whipped cream
- Notes: Nutmeg is toxic to dogs, so make sure you use ground cinnamon (NOT pumpkin spice mix) and pure pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie mix). If you're using store bought whipped cream, make sure there's no xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
