Thanksgiving Recipes for your Pup

Fall has arrived – that means overindulging in festive feasts and all things pumpkin. Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate the things that we are most grateful for in our lives – that includes our furry companions. Although it’s best to avoid sharing table scraps with your beloved companion, they can still partake in the festivities with some drool-worthy thanksgiving treats! This Thanksgiving season try making your pet a tasty pumpkin pie paired with a Pumpkin Spiced Pet-ccino. Keep reading for the full recipe.

Pumpkin Spice Pet-ccino

Who says PSL (pumpkin spiced latte) are just for humans? Treat your pup with this tasty fall recipe by @acechiweenie.

Ingredients:

• Harvest Chicken Freeze Dried Raw

- Homestead Turkey Bone Broth

• Pumpkin Puree*
• Potato

Directions:

Add bone broth to pumpkin puree and mix well, pour into a bowl or cup. Sprinkle with your preferred flavor of freeze-dried raw. You can optionally top with some mashed potatoes and garnish with a dehydrated sweet potato. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Pie for Dogs

Did you know pumpkin is a healthy and nutritious treat for your dog? Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without pumpkin pie. Here is recipe that will have your pet asking for seconds. Serve cool and sparingly as a treat/dessert.

Ingredients:

• 2 cage free eggs
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon*
• 1 can of pumpkin puree*
• 14 oz of Open Farm Kefir or goat milk
• Open Farm kibble of your choice
• Coconut oil/olive oil

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350F. In your food processor combine 1-2 cups of kibble with ¼ coconut oil until grainy texture is reached. Line a pie pan with the mixture and press down to create the crust. Bake the crust for 3-5 minutes.

Mix the eggs, cinnamon, pumpkin puree, and kefir until well combined. Pour the mixture over the crust and return to the oven for 45-60 minutes or until golden.

Allow pie to fully cool before serving. Although tempting, do not feed as a complete meal, portion according to your pets size and serve as a treat. Store leftovers in the fridge.
